As they would say in the pregnancy world, I am 38.3 weeks pregnant. The 0.3 indicates day 3 of the 38th week of pregnancy. Which, I know, mathematically doesn't make sense, but this is what I have been finding is "common term" in the online preggo community. Full term pregnancy these days ranges anywhere from 37-42 weeks. I am hoping she decides to come out sooner than later! Every day/week that goes by... I imagine her getting larger and larger in my belly... which fuels the terror in my mind of... how is this creature going to leave my body..... It's a bit of a scary thought.
Her movements have become a combination of rolls and kicks, more the former than the latter these days. She's particularly active around 9-10 pm I've noticed, where there will lots of movement for at least 15-30 minutes. I've been told that time can correlate to how active they are once out of the womb... I guess I should be grateful then that her active time is not at 3 in the morning... although I'm sure I'll be up around those hours regardless to feed her.
It's an odd thought to think that I am going to be a mother soon. I guess technically, I AM currently a mother?! Life as we know it, is about to change... I have to say that I do think I'll feel better once she is out. It's quite uncomfortable carrying a baby...
My current weight is 180 lbs. For my 5'5'' frame, it's a lot to carry. I think my starting weight was somewhere around 145-148 lbs, which means I've gained about 35 lbs during my pregnancy. I think it is "normal". It's so weird that the baby really only weighs a fraction of that weight gain... I suppose some of it is also amniotic fluid that the baby is floating around in... I'm hoping that breastfeeding will help me lose all of this weight quickly... (sigh)!
Well... until next time... which may be when Adelynn Elise or Lana Elise decides to make her debut...
