Hey there.. Long time no talk. Place all the blame on me. Currently, I am in Utica, KS.. and that's right, like the title says.. population: 150, if even that! Kelly and I are here for our food animal mentorship. We've been here since Sunday night and we're leaving this Saturday. Thus far we've gotten to do a lot of cool stuff. Drawing blood on a steer is a heck of a lot easier than any dog or cat, since their jugular vein is about 2 inches wide! We're doing a lot of palpating... female cows I think are a lot harder than males if you're trying to find the cervix, horns and right ovary because you have to follow the horn up to the ovary and it can very easily fall out of your hand. With males, there's the prostate, then the seminal vesicles, and BAM, you're done! The Norton doc's are super nice. Life is definitely a lot different here... even more different from Manhattan, which I already thought was way different than southern California. There's a lot of things that don't exist here.. like homeless people, a movie theater, a high school, snobs or lazy people. I tell ya... it's different.
Anyhow.. I'll elaborate on this different-ness at a later time.. cause right now.. sleep calls... Good night...
